KILGORE — The Kyle City Council has selected Kilgore City Manager Scott Sellers as the next Kyle City Manager. The selection was made official with a 7-0 vote after an executive session during the regular city council meeting on late Tuesday night. Sellers will be the City of Kyle’s third full time city manager, succeeding Lanny Lambert who resigned as Kyle City Manager in October to take the same position in Converse, Texas.

According to a news release on the City of Kyle’s website, “Mr. Sellers will bring a lot of new energy into our organization,” said Kyle Mayor Todd Webster. “The council was very impressed with his vision on how to move our city forward and his focus on economic development and also service delivery for our residents. We are looking forward to working with him.”

Sellers was selected from a pool of 46 applicants. The council narrowed that list to five during a special called meeting on Monday, November 10th, and conducted interviews with the five finalist on Saturday, November 15th.

Final terms of Sellers’ employment are still to be determined. Kilgore Mayor Ronnie Spradlin told the Longview News-Journal, “I do not have a date established of when he will start work there, but I anticipate it will not be until the first of the year.”
