Police: Man Jailed after Punching, Head Butting Security Officer
Posted/updated on: November 26, 2014 at 4:56 pmLONGVIEW — A Longview man is being held in the Gregg County Jail after police say he punched and head butted a security officer at the Lodge Sports Bar. KETK and the Longview News-Journal report James Dillon Loving, 21, remains jailed on $7,500 bond, charged with assault on a security officer, a felony. He was arrested just before midnight Saturday when Longview police responded to a fight in progress at the Lodge in the 500 block of North Spur 63.
The security officer told the Longview police officer that Loving had been picking fights with people at the bar, according to the arrest report. When the security officer told Loving to leave, Loving punched him in the head and then head butted him, the report said. The security officer suffered pain and injury, the report said. When the Longview police officer interviewed Loving, he reported that Loving admitted to assaulting the security officer because he wasnt ready to leave the bar yet.
