Bond Set for Longview Woman Charged with Husband’s Death

Alexis WalkerLONGVIEW – A Longview woman accused of murdering her husband over the weekend is now being held on $1 million bond. According to KETK, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office alleges Alexis Walker, 30, shot and killed her husband, Anthony Updyke, 33. Deputies responded to a home in the 3300 block of Lansing Switch after 911 operators received a call requesting emergency responders around 3:50 Saturday morning. When deputies arrived, it was discovered that Anthony Updyke was shot and was not breathing. The alleged shooter was at the residence and was in the living room area when deputies arrived. Deputies reported a pistol that was found at the scene was the weapon allegedly used in the shooting. Judge Meghan Pinson was at the scene and pronounced the victim dead. An autopsy was ordered by Judge Pinson.

According to the incident report, the victim and the suspect were drinking during the day and evening. There was an argument and the victim allegedly took the keys to a vehicle that belonged to the suspect and went outside the residence. The suspect then allegedly locked the victim out of the residence when he went outside. When the victim returned to the residence, arguing continued and the suspect allegedly shot the victim once, hitting him in the chest. The suspect was arrested at the scene.
