899 Candidates Recognized at UT Tyler Fall 2014 Commencement

thumb_uttylerTYLER — The University of Texas at Tyler held fall 2014 commencement ceremonies Dec. 12 and 13, President Rodney H. Mabry announced. 899 degree candidates were recognized in the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center.

The commencement schedule was:

College of Nursing and Health Sciences 3 p.m. Dec. 12
College of Arts and Sciences 6 p.m. Dec. 12
College of Business and Technology 10 a.m. Dec. 13
Colleges of Education and Psychology and Engineering 1 p.m. Dec. 13

State Rep. Matt Schaefer served as the commencement speaker for all four ceremonies. President Mabry gave remarks. Dr. Ross Sherman, interim provost and vice president for academic affairs, presented and certified doctoral degree candidates. Presentation and certification of masters and baccalaureate degree candidates were made by the deans of each of the universitys colleges: Dr. Martin Slann, Arts and Sciences; Dr. James Lumpkin, Business and Technology; Dr. Wesley Hickey, Education and Psychology; Dr. James Nelson, Engineering; and Dr. Yong Tai Wang, Nursing and Health Sciences. Texas Bank and Trust-Tyler President Jerry Woolverton and Brittany Childs, UT Tyler director of alumni relations, gave alumni association presentations.
