thumb_police-5SHREVEPORT — Two East Texas men were taken into custody Tuesday in separate incidents after officials say they were caught with stolen vehicles out of the Longview area. According to KETK, Louisiana State Troopers say on December 16 at 10:22 a.m., authorities stopped an SUV driven by Michael Lawson, 35, of Mt. Vernon, on Interstate 20 in Haughton, Louisiana, after learning the vehicle had been reported stolen in White Oak, Texas. Troopers arrested Lawson, and after the vehicle was recovered, took him to the Bossier Parish Jail for illegal possession of stolen things.

Later the same day at 12:22 p.m., troopers tried to pull over a car driven by Joshua Brown, 31, of Longview, on Traffic Street in Bossier City, Louisiana, after the vehicle had been reported stolen in Longview. The suspect took off in onto I-20 westbound into Caddo Parish where he later exited south onto Interstate 49, according to officials. After Brown exited, he reportedly took the Pierremont Road exit.

While attempting to dodge law enforcement, he crashed into another vehicle on the exit ramp, according to authorities. After the crash, Brown reportedly tried to run but was immediately captured. During the investigation, troopers also reportedly discovered Brown was in possession of marijuana. He was eventually booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for illegal possession of stolen things, negligent injuring, aggravated flight, hit & run, resisting an officer by flight and simple possession of marijuana.
