Three Arrested in Upshur County Dog Dumping Case
Posted/updated on: January 2, 2015 at 2:12 amGILMER – Three persons have been arrested in connection with the May dumping of a group of dead fighting dogs in an Upshur County creek. The eight bloated dog carcasses were found in a creek off Farm Road 2685, between Gilmer and Gladewater. Most of the animals were said to have been pit bulls. According to the Longview News-Journal, Amber Jean Long, 32, Caleb Vigneau, 36, and John Newman, 20, all of Gladewater, have all been charged with unauthorized discharge of waste into a waterway under Texas’ Water Code. The charge is a Class-A misdemeanor.
