Fifth Suspect Nabbed in Multi-County Crime Spree

HENDERSON — A fifth suspect was arrested Wednesday in a multi-county crime spree. KETK reports he’s Jorge Santos, 21. Thanks to a tip to Rusk County Crime Stoppers, he was arrested around noon at his home in Henderson. Santos and four other men are accused of stealing 30 large trucks and using them in “smash and grab” burglaries around East Texas. Property damage collectively is estimated to be in the neighborhood of $1 million. The sheriff’s departments of Smith, Rusk, Gregg, and Harrison Counties worked together for months to find and arrest the suspects.
