thumb_TISD_Logo_NewTYLER – BOND 2013 construction projects continue to take shape, according to a news release from Tyler ISD. Projects include the new 150,000-square-foot Career and Technology Center (CTC), two new middle school campuses at the existing Moore MST Magnet School and Boulter Middle School locations, the new Three Lakes Middle School, and renovations and additions to Dixie and Rice elementary schools. All projects are on schedule to be completed before the 2015-2016 school year, according to the release.

Inside the CTC, painting, millwork, and equipment installation are underway in the auto shop; the cosmetology units; the kitchen preparation areas; and the science, computer, Micro, and production labs. The north entry of the main corridor is receiving finishing touches while wood panels are being installed in the south entry, according to the news release. Around the building crews are installing ductwork and A/C operations, ceiling grids and tiles, plumbing, lighting, electrical fixtures, and other accessories.

Officials say progress at all three middle school campuses includes steel erection, exterior brick and stonework, roofing, and window installation throughout various phases of the buildings. Inside the buildings, sheetrock, rough-ins of electrical and plumbing work, framing, painting, and tiling all are underway. At Three Lakes Middle School electrical power will be turned on this month and the paving of all roadways is complete, according to the news release.

At Dixie, the new courtyard is complete and erection of the new entry area is underway. New classrooms are being painted and ductwork and ceiling work is taking place in the new library. Students at Rice Elementary are enjoying newly completed classrooms, and the newly completed entry greets school parents, staff and visitors.
