housefire012615LINDALE — Supporters of a Lindale family are working to help after the family was able to escape a house fire early Monday morning.
A funding website — http://www.youcaring.com/emergency-fundraiser/taking-care-of-the-terry-s-/297255#.VMaITxi0XB8.facebook — has been set up to help Jon and Mallory Terry and their three children, Cannon, 9, Kennedy, 5, and Clate, 1, with their expenses.

According to KETK, the Smith County Fire Marshal says the blaze erupted at a home in the 300 block of North Henry Street, just west of Highway 69, around 3:10 a.m. A husband, wife, and three kids were inside the house. A passerby banged on the door and woke them up; all escaped uninjured, but video shows extensive damage to the residence. The house had no working smoke detectors. Smith County officials urge residents to check their smoke detectors at least once a week to avoid this kind of situation. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
