foosballLONGVIEW — The trial for a Longview man accused of murdering a Kilgore College football player in 2012 has been postponed until next month. According to KETK, judicial records show the trial for Brendan Xavier Douglas, 25, was scheduled to begin at 9:00am yesterday morning, but has since been pushed back to March 23. Douglas is accused in the May 2012 shooting death of DeAundray Rossum. According to witness statements, Douglas may have been plotting with two other men who ambushed Rossum and others. Rossum, a former Kilgore College student and football player, was found fatally shot in a vehicle at a South Longview apartment complex.

Two other people in the vehicle at the time of the shooting were treated for gunshot wounds. Witnesses identified Douglas as one of the men in the car with Rossum the night of the fatal shooting. Officials believe Douglas and two others plotted against Rossum in an attempt to rob him.
