City of Tyler Recognized as Harvard Ash Center Bright Idea in Government

image003TYLER — The Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, recognized the City of Tyler Wednesday as part of the 2015 Bright Ideas program. This year’s cohort includes 124 programs from all levels of government that are at the forefront in innovative government action, according to information from the city. “Tyler being recognized as a top government innovator in the country, including organizations of all sizes and levels, is affirmation that our conservative business principles are truly effective,” said Tyler Mayor Martin Heines. “Our City employees are doing a terrific job creating new and more efficient methods for completing their work, and our community is reaping the benefit.”

The Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation advances excellence in governance and strengthens democratic institutions worldwide, according to the information provided by the city. Bright Ideas is termed an initiative that recognizes creative and promising government programs and partnerships.
