DPS badgeFLINT — Authorities Thursday released the names of victims and updated the conditions of survivors in a double-fatal two-vehicle accident Wednesday evening in the Flint-Gresham area. The wreck happened around 6:15 on the Old Jacksonville Highway near County Road 140. According to DPS, a truck driven by Carl Crabtree, 30, of Bullard, was traveling southbound on Old Jacksonville Highway when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a northbound SUV. The driver of the SUV, Dana Regester, 41, of Flint, was pronounced dead at the scene. Pasha Zapolsky, 18, of Bullard, who was sitting in the passenger’s side front seat, was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Other passengers in the SUV, identified as Ashley Regester, 15, of Flint, and Caleb Chardwell, 17, of Bullard, were taken to a local hospital for treatment. According to ETMC, Ashlee Regester was last reported in critical but stable condition. Two other Regester children were treated and released. Their names will not be released, per the father’s request. No information has been made available on Caleb Chadwell. He was taken to Trinity Mother Frances. Crabtree was also taken to a local hospital, and his condition was not immediately known. The road was shut down until crews cleared the wreckage. DPS urges drivers to slow down and increase following distance during wet road conditions. A GoFundMe account has been set up at http://www.gofundme.com/nwthzw to help the families of the victims, who were connected to Brook Hill School.
