KETK reports that around 1 p.m., four deputies were attempting to execute the warrant at a home on the 3400 block of County Road 4305 when the incident took place. When authorities circled to the back of the house, they found the fugitive who then grabbed an AR-15 from a four wheeler and began firing at law enforcement, according to authorities. Deputies reportedly returned fire and hit the gunman several times.

Officials say the fugitive was then flown to a Tyler hospital to undergo emergency surgery. Authorities identified the suspect as Jamie Lawrence Meador, 30, of Brownsboro. He is now in stable condition. Deputies also reported finding meth and marijuana in the suspect’s possession. Numerous guns were found at the location following the incident. Meador is expected to be charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, theft, and attempted capital murder. Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting.
