Hallsville Teen Killed in Monday Wreck

LONGVIEW — One person has been killed in a head-on collision near Longview. It happened just before 12:00 Monday afternoon on Farm Road 2208 near Alpine Road in Harrison County. Rachel Elizabeth DeLorme, 19, of Hallsville, was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Department of Public Safety report, DeLorme’s car swerved into oncoming traffic and collided with a pickup driven by Phillip Lamar Martindale, of Arp. Martindale was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
According to KETK, DeLorme is the daughter of David and Edie DeLorme, owners of Kern’s Bake Shop, located at 1009 East Marshall Avenue in Longview. They announced they would close the bakery for the remainder of the week after the death of their daughter. They wish to thank the public for their patience and understanding.
