Two Arrested in Wood Co. Meth Bust

Ronald YatesQUITMAN — The Wood County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrests of two men last week during a drug raid at a home on FM 1643. According to KETK, during the execution of the search warrant on April 2, authorities found several people inside the home and three more reportedly ran from the back of the house. Investigators say they chased the suspects and caught two men, Ronald Yates (pictured) and Terry Shane Davis. Davis, of Quitman, was reportedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine at the time of his arrest. Ronald Yates, of Winnsboro, is the owner of the home on FM 1643.

A search of Yates’s house resulted in the seizure of more than 60 grams of methamphetamine as well as packaging material, scales and other paraphernalia, according to law officers. Officials also reportedly found a gun. Yates was arrested for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine over 4 grams, under 200 grams, which is a 1st degree felony. Yates was indicted on a methamphetamine charge stemming from a search warrant executed by the Sheriff’s Office two months prior. Davis was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine over 1 gram, under 4 grams, which is a 3rd degree felony. Both individuals were booked into Wood County Jail, and bonds were set totaling $40,000.
