thumb_johncornynTYLER — Republican U.S. Senator John Cornyn of Texas paid a visit to East Texas Friday night. KETK reports he was at Hollytree Country Club in Tyler for the Annual Smith County Republican Club Dinner. The dinner featured a silent auction from the Smith County Republican Women as well as a VIP reception with the senator. He also spoke on topics that included international relations, small business, and Obamacare.

Senator Cornyn said he plans to continue fighting back against the president’s agenda. “I’m working very hard with all of our members of Congress to try to push back against the Obama takeover of healthcare, energy, you name it. We’re trying to push back because we realize we have something special here, and we don’t want to lose it,” said Cornyn. He also said that he enjoys making trips like this because it lets him see the contrast between what’s happening in Washington D.C. and what the real world is like.
