Trinity Mother Frances Earns National Patient Safety Award

Trinity Mother Frances is the only hospital in East Texas to earn this prestigious national designation, according to a news release. “It is an honor to be recognized on this list of some of the most outstanding facilities in the country through this designation,” said Barbara Allen, MD, Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Quality Officer. “This award is a testament to the hard work, dedication and expertise of our entire medical staff and every member of our team who give their all every day to ensure that our patients are cared for in the safest possible environment.”
Healthgrades dubbed 467 hospitals top performers for their scores related to patient safety, gleaned by examining claims data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on hospital stays from 2011 to 2013. The top 10 percent earned 2015 Patient Safety Excellence Awards. “This award is an indication of not only recent achievements, but also a prolonged period of exceptional quality at Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics,” said John McGreevy, Chief Executive Officer, Mother Frances Hospital Tyler and the Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital. “This award is based on data collected and assessed over several years, and shows a direct result of the efforts of our team to create a safe environment in which our patients receive the care they need.”
