Police Investigate Infant Death

TYLER — The death of an infant is under investigation by Tyler Police. Authorities say police, fire, and EMS personnel responded to 6312 Springbrook Drive in Tyler shortly after 10:45 Saturday morning in reference to an infant who was not responsive. The mother told police that she was sleeping in her bed with her 8-month-old son and upon waking at around 10:30 found him cold and unresponsive. EMS responded but the child was found to be deceased. The infant was transported to the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas for an autopsy.
