Schaefer Sounds Off on Gay Marriage

thumb_matt-schaeffer-2TYLER — Local leaders continue to weigh in on the Supreme Court’s gay marriage ruling. State Representative Matt Schaefer of Tyler told KETK he’s against the decision and that marriage should be defined by each state. According to Schaefer, “Marriage is nowhere mentioned in the Constitution. That’s why the state of Texas defines marriage in our constitution as being between a man and a woman. And each state should be left to define marriage as it sees fit — and Texas chose to define marriage as God defined marriage.”
