Killed was Margaret Reach Pulsipher 67 of Winona. Injured was Jerry Francis Pulsipher, 70. Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched around 1:00 Friday afternoon to reports of a domestic disturbance and shots fired on County Road 3116, also known as Philpot Road, in northeastern Smith County. Investigators later determined the man was bringing food to his estranged wife at her home when she allegedly shot him at least twice.

He then went to another location down the road and lay down in a yard. Officials say the woman hopped into a truck and crashed it nearby. Authorities report she then made it to where her husband was lying and shot him several more times. He was able to get up and retrieve a gun from his vehicle and is then said to have shot his wife twice and killed her. The man was taken to a Tyler hospital where the latest report said he is alert but that additional surgeries will be required.
