According to KETK, Ashli Marie Acker Dansby pleaded guilty Tuesday on a charge of failure to stop and render aid after an accident involving bodily injury. Dansby is news director for KMHT Radio in Marshall.
On July 18, a woman was walking down the middle turn lane of Victory Drive in Marshall with no street lighting and her fiance at her side. The woman was hit by a vehicle driven by Dansby while she was legally moving into the turn lane. Dansby was headed home at the time. Officials said the victim’s fiance began yelling for Dansby to stop or come back. Dansby continued to her home, where a 911 call was made to report the accident at around 1:25 a.m. The victim was hospitalized for about two weeks. It was also later determined the woman was intoxicated the night of the accident. Dansby turned herself in to police a few days after the accident. Officials said there is no evidence Dansby was drunk when she hit the victim.
