Football Hopeful Dies From Asthma Attack

According to KETK, Idong Okon, a junior student-athlete for the University of Arkansas at Monticello died Sunday, December 6 after suffering an asthma attack. Okon was 21 years old. Originally from Tyler, Okon transferred to UAM for the 2015 season, but was sidelined for the year with a knee injury during fall training camp. According to UAM head football coach Hud Jackson, Okon was expected to be a vital part of the offensive line during the 2016 season.
