image011TYLER — The Tyler Metropolitan Planning Organization hosts a public open house today to gather input toward the Old Jacksonville Highway (FM 2493) Corridor Study. The gathering is set for 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church on Old Jacksonville Hwy. The portion of road being studied is bounded by Loop 323 in Tyler and Highway 69 in Bullard. The study will analyze the current conditions of traffic, travel lanes, and signals, and make recommendations for upgrades as the corridor grows.

The consultants working on the study, Brown and Gay Engineers, will be presenting their long term recommendations for the corridor. Attendees will have a chance to view the recommendations and provide input or share concerns. Comment cards will be dispersed around the room for attendees to provide written feedback. Staff members will also be available to answer questions. Refreshments will be provided. Citizens who cannot attend the open house may go to http://www.TylerAreaMpo.org to provide feedback.
