path-logoTYLER — The revival of a community-wide collaboration to promote and address eye health was announced Wednesday by Greg Grubb, executive director of the Tyler-based human needs agency PATH. Grubb says the free service “Saving Sight” is back in business after going on hold last year due to a loss of funding. According to Grubb, Saving Sight offers much needed eye exams, screenings, reading and corrective glasses, and support for those with major vision loss who would otherwise go without care.

Along with PATH and the East Texas Lighthouse for the Blind, other current community partners include several local vision centers, the Tyler Lions Club, and New Jersey-based New Eyes for the Needy. PATH officials say there is a need for additional community businesses to join in the effort. If you or your business would like to work with this collaborative group, contact Andrea Wilson, programs manager, or Mila Hightower, development director at PATH.
