longviewisdlogoLONGVIEW – A new newspaper is available today in Longview. After a few years of discussion, the Longview School District is publishing the Longview Voice. The paper, both a hard copy as well as an on line edition, reports on the many good things the district is doing for all of its students. With a print run of 15,000 copies, January’s six-page edition features articles on LISD student accomplishments, a calendar of coming events for February, and a column from Longview Mayor, and LHS alum, Dr. Andy Mack.

School Superintendent James Wilcox says a variety of persons are writing the story in the paper, including a past city editor for the Longview News Journal. Wilcox says the paper, both hard copy and on line edition, is free. Paid advertising covers the cost of the paper. Any funds left over after the expenses are paid, goes into a scholarship fund for students at Longview High School.

The Longview Voice can be found at: City Hall, Longview Public Library, Longview Chamber of Commerce, Peters Chevrolet, Longview Regional Hospital, Broughton Recreation Center, Southside Bank, Skinner’s Corner Store, Hurwitz of Longview, Satterwhite Log Homes, the Boys & Girls Club of Gregg County, and Texas Bank & Trust.
