UT Tyler Responds to Possible Tuition Increase
Posted/updated on: February 12, 2016 at 3:21 pmTYLER – The regents of the University of Texas System are expected to meet later this month to consider tuition increases. The proposals call for hikes of between 2 and 6.4% for resident undergraduate students. For students at the University of Texas at Tyler, the proposed increase is 3.9%. Laura Jackson, Vice President for Legislative Affairs and Strategic Initiatives at U-T Tyler, said, if approved, this would be the first tuition hike for the Tyler campus since 2012. She said this would simply adjust for inflation. And Jackson adds, any tuition hike would not impact students with family incomes under $60,000.
