New School Superintendent Named in Whitehouse
Posted/updated on: March 1, 2016 at 2:12 pmWHITEHOUSE – At a called meeting, Whitehouse school trustees have named Dr. Christopher Moran as the lone finalist for Superintendent of Schools. The must now wait now wait 21 days as required by law before making a final appointment. Dr. Moran is currently superintendent of school in Brownsboro, a position he has held since 2011. He will be succeeding Danial DuPree who has served in a variety of positions in the Whitehouse school system since 1994. He announced last November he would retire at the end of August, 2016.
Moran said he and his family are extremely excited about the move. He added “Whitehouse is a fantastic community and the Whitehouse ISD has always been a leading school district, and we are very thrilled about going back to the Whitehouse ISD and come home.”
While looking forward to being back in Whitehouse, Dr. Moran admitted to be making the move with mixed emotions. He said “the Brownsboro school district has been a fantastic place to live. And as I told the staff here, we aren’t eager to leave them, but we are certainly excited about the opportunity of Whitehouse.” And Moran added, “the folks in Brownsboro and Chandler, and this whole surrounding area, have been extremely kind and loving to our family and we will miss them.”
Dr. Moran earned his Texas Superintendent Certification and Doctorate in Education at Stephen F. Austin State University. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science from Evangel University and a Master of Education from the University of Texas at Tyler. Dr. Moran has held various professional positions at Franklin Road Christian School in Southfield, Michigan, Ingram ISD, Whitehouse ISD and Clear Creek ISD.
