Tuition Hike for the UT System
Posted/updated on: March 2, 2016 at 12:47 pmAUSTIN – The board of regents of the University of Texas System have approved a tuition hike for member schools. The increases for the schools, including the University of Texas at Tyler, will kick in this fall. For U-T Tyler students, the proposed increase is 3.4%. Laura Jackson, Vice President for Legislative Affairs and Strategic Initiatives at U-T Tyler, previously told us, this is the first tuition hike for the Tyler campus since 2012. She said this would simply adjust for inflation. And Jackson adds, any tuition hike would not impact students with family incomes under $60,000. There will be no tuition hike at U-T Health Northeast. They had not requested one.
