The Longview News Journal reports Orlandos Lugene Johnson, 48, was sentenced tuesday to 50 years in prison. According to Upshur County District Attorney Billy Byrd, Johnson must serve at least half of the sentence before becoming eligible for parole. Byrd said that Johnson worked with special needs children in the district and that the sexual assault started when a student was a sixth-grader in the district and lasted until the student was 17. The child is said to have told what happened to him after trying to commit suicide and being confined to a mental hospital.
