A Sex Offender Compliance Check in Henderson County

ATHENS — Area law enforcement agencies have joined together to conduct a “Knock and Talk” sex offender compliance check in Henderson county. The action has resulted in some arrests. The goal of the operation was to verify the offender is complying with the law. It requires adult and juvenile sex offenders to register with the local law enforcement agency in the city or county where they reside. Nearly 200 compliance checks were conducted earlier this week. Fourteen sex offenders were found to be out of compliance, four were arrested for probation or parole violations. Those who were arrested were booked into the Henderson County Jail.
