A New Conductor for the Longview Symphony

Gene MoonLONGVIEW — The Longview Symphony has announced it has a new director. Jon Cromer, president of the Longview Symphony League Board announced Monday that Dr. Geen Moon is the symphony’s new director. The musical arts director at Stephen F. Austin University, teaches graduate conducting and orchestra administration, coaches chamber groups, opera scenes and oversees student teaching for the string area at SFA. Dr Moon’s doctoral thesis was on the history of the Longview Symphony. The symphony’s artistic committee is now working with Dr. Moon to finalize the 2016-2017 season.
