Homeowners living about a quarter of a mile from the river called authorities Tuesday when they noticed the alligators were stuck in their pool, which had a low water level. It’s not known when exactly the alligators became trapped, according to the Longview News-Journal and KETK. Long, along with officers from the Gladewater Police Department, moved the alligators and released them back into the Sabine River. The Parks and Wildlife Department is seeing a lot of displaced alligators recently because of flooding, Long said. He urged anyone who sees an alligator where it shouldn’t be to contact the Parks and Wildlife Department or their local authorities.
