KETK reports, Ismael Martinez, 59, had been planning to spend his Wednesday morning fishing just near the bridge. But when he got to the spot where he was going to tie off his boat, the boat flipped. A rescue call came in to emergency responders at 7:45, Gregg County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Josh Tubb said. Emergency response teams from Gregg County, Lakeport, Texas Parks & Wildlife and the Longview Fire Department responded to the scene, with the Longview Fire Department’s water rescue team bringing the man’s boat to shore. Martinez was not injured, but he did lose one sandal and his bait.
