Man Sought for Mail Theft, Check Fraud

MARSHALL — Chief Jesus “Eddie” Campa and the Marshall Police Department are seeking the community’s assistance in helping locate one of the agency’s most wanted fugitives, according to a police news release. MPD is seeking any information related to the location of Tom McPherson Jr. McPherson may also go by the alias of John Zorn Jr. or Reese McPherson. McPherson is wanted on two felony forgery warrants from the Marshall Police Department.

Police say McPherson has traveled around East Texas stealing mail from mail boxes. They say McPherson then takes the victims’ information from the mail he has taken, creates fraudulent checks using a victim’s identity, and uses them in various locations around East Texas. McPherson is wanted by multiple East Texas law enforcement agencies. His last known address was in Hallsville.

Marshall Police ask that if you have any information leading to the location of McPherson, call 903-935-4575 or 903-935-4540. Campa added, “We want to remind anyone out there who is thinking about harboring a fugitive that it is a crime to do so. If you harbor a fugitive we will arrest you.”
