Fireman’s Daughter Killed in Boating Accident
Posted/updated on: July 4, 2016 at 2:59 pmHENDERSON COUNTY — The 9-year-old daughter of a Seven Points Fireman was killed in a boating accident Friday night. According to KETK, the accident happened around 7:15 at Cedar Creek Reservoir. Seven Points Fire Rescue First Captain Bryan Abbott reported that Cierra Morman was on a boat when she fell overboard, striking the boat near the motor. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Abbott said the incident has been ruled an accident. He said safety precautions were in place, and no alcohol was involved. Cierra’s dad works for Seven Points Fire Rescue.
Seven Points Fire Rescue wrote this on their Facebook page: “It is with the deepest sorrow and pain that we report that one of our own Fireman and family suffered the loss of their young child in a boating accident. At this time we are asking for the support of our community to help our Brother’s family. A memorial fund is being established and we are asking for donations to be made to help with the expenses they have and will have. Donations may be dropped off at the Seven Points Police Department. There will be no further information released at this time about the accident or people involved. Please keep this family and our Department in your prayers as we go through the next few days.”
