cityoftylerTYLER — The City of Tyler hosts the annual 4th of July fireworks celebration at Lindsey Park, 12557 Spur 364 W. Following a 4:00 kickoff for the free celebration, the fireworks show was scheduled to begin at 9:00. The park gate, located off of Spur 364, officially opened at 2:00. According to a news release from the City of Tyler, attendees have been asked to arrive early for prime parking. Per City ordinances, alcohol, smoking and private fireworks are prohibited in the park. The Tyler Police Department will be patrolling and writing citations if ordinances are broken.

After the fireworks show, Tyler Police officers will funnel traffic onto Spur 364. There will be officers stationed at Spur 364 and Loop 323; Highway 31 West and Loop 323; and at Spur 364 and Highway 31 West. Due to the lot’s vicinity to the firework zone, those parked in overflow parking will be required to wait 15 minutes after the show before they will be allowed to move their vehicles and exit the park. All attendees should obey officers’ instructions. Live entertainment, sponsored by Stanley’s Bar-B-Q, runs from 4:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. The event also features a Kids Zone for families, with children enjoying bounce houses and more for a nominal fee. Food and concessions are also available for purchase.
