Nacogdoches-Police-3NACOGDOCHES — The Nacogdoches Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting that left one person dead and one in serious condition. According to KETK, officers were called to an apartment in the 500 block of Tangleberry Street shortly after 4:00 Wednesday morning. Officers were met by a roommate who said a female, identified as Chloe Love, 22, of Houston, had forced her way into the apartment, confronted another female in a bedroom and produced a handgun. The roommate ran from the residence and heard a gunshot as she was exiting.

Officers made entry to the apartment and located Love in the bedroom floor with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. She was taken to a local hospital where she is in extremely serious condition. Officers also found the body of Shermika Bolden, 23 of Nacogdoches, on the floor of the bedroom. She had also been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers had been called to the apartment approximately one hour prior to this call, on a criminal mischief complaint. Bolden had reported that she had been called several times during the night by Love and that a brick had been thrown through the front window of the residence. Bolden named Love as the suspect in this case.

The investigation is continuing and updates will be issued as information develops.
