Boil Water Notice for a Portion of Palestine

PALESTINE – City of Palestine utilities, Thursday afternoon, issued a boil water order until further notice. Due to two minor water delivery repairs, the boil water notice is for customers on North Jackson Street north of Loop 256 to the city limits and west of North Jackson Street to Threll Street. Earlier Thursday, crews repaired a 14-inch water main leak near North Jackson Street to Threll Street. The leak, coupled with a pump replacement at the North Jackson Street water tower, passed state thresholds to require issuing the boil water notice. The order is expected to last at least 24 hours and will be tested. It will be lifted when the water passes Texas Commission on Environmental Quality standards.
