Zika Case Reported in Gregg County

LONGVIEW – A Zika cased has turned up in Gregg County. But the disease was contracted out of the country. The woman, who had developed the symptoms, had just traveled to Puerto Rico. She went to her doctor last Thursday and a blood test confirmed the disease. The Gregg County Health Department was notified late last Friday of the confirmed Zika case. They say it was a travel related case and was not from a local mosquito bite. They continue trapping and testing mosquitoes in Gregg County and none have tested positive for the Zika Virus.
