Mayor Martin Heines tells KETK the new budget will save more money than in years past. Also approved was a one-cent property tax increase. That money will help pay for the improvement of city roads. Heines says the decisions made were all in the best interest of the people living in Tyler. He comments, “We have a staff that is committed to the community, and we are proud of the work that they do, and the ability they had to make this budget work with less money.”
