Two Incidents Involving Guns Reported on TJC Campus
Posted/updated on: September 23, 2016 at 10:17 amTYLER – What was supposed to be a purchase through social media has turned into a Tyler robbery and police looking for three suspects. A TJC student was robbed around 7:30 Wednesday night at 1414 Magnolia Street. The student told officers he was in a car when a suspect pulled a gun on him. One of the suspects took the student’s cell phone and undisclosed amount of money. They drove away in a dark blue Honda sedan. They were last seen driving north of Beckham. The suspects were described as a black female and two black males. No injuries were reported.
The second incident occurred at approximately 9:55 p.m. TJC Campus Police responded to a call in the 1200 block of Magnolia. A male TJC student reported that a vehicle pulled alongside and a suspect pointed a rifle at him. The suspects were described as two black males. They were driving a black four door Acura vehicle.
TJC Campus Police issued campus wide alerts after both reports and have increased patrols of the area as they continue to investigate the incidents.
