Man Arrested in Fatal Upshur County Wreck

grand jury roomGILMER – A man accused of causing a fatal Upshur County wreck, has been arrested following his indictment. The Upshur County grand jury on Thursday indicted Robert William Frazier, 23, of Gilmer. He was arrested Thursday afternoon by the Texas Department of Public Safety on the warrant issued from the indictment. Judge Lauren Parish set his bond at $500,000. Frazier is said to have been responsible for the June 3rd accident on State Highway 154, six miles west of Gilmer, that killed two persons and left two persons seriously injured.

Killed were Haley Johnson, 19, of Big Sandy and Bailee Russell, 17, Holly Lake Ranch. Injured were Alisha Allen, of Gilmer and Cameron Johnson of Big Sandy. The Department of Public safety reports the accident occurred when the other vehicle, driven by Robert Frazier, 23, Gilmer, was in the wrong lane of traffic. The girl’s took evasive action and veered left to avoid a collision at which Frazier veered right. The vehicles struck.

Frazier was named in a four count indictment. Two counts are for intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault.
