Man Facing Intoxication Manslaughter Charge in Fatal Boat Accident

AUSTIN – A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal boating accident this summer on Lake Fork. Donald Bryant Lawson, 45, was killed in the July 9th accident. Lawson and David Michael Roche, 45, were both tossed from their boat when it crashed. According to a news release from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Roche was originally arrested on suspicion of boating while intoxicated. Lab tests show Roche had a blood alcohol content of .168. That is just over double the legal limit. An arrest warrant was issued for Roche this week following a thorough investigation. He turned himself in to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday.
