One More Smith County West Nile Virus Case
Posted/updated on: October 14, 2016 at 11:50 amTYLER – Another case of West Nile Virus has been reported in Smith County. This comes despite some cooler weather. With the latest case, the Texas Department of State Health Services says there have been three West Nile Virus cases in Smith County in 2016. Most people who contract it will experience no symptoms. Others will develop flu-like symptoms. So far this year, Texas has reported some 200 cases of the illness and there have been seven deaths. This is less than last year when 275 cases were reported with 16 deaths.
