thumb_nethealthnortheasttexasTYLER – New food truck regulations recently approved by the The Northeast Texas Public Health District (NET Health) Board of Directors are now in effect. NET Health compared the standards to other jurisdictions. They also listened to concerns voiced by community. Net Health says the revisions comply with the Texas Food Establishment Rules, and the Texas Department of State Health Services that all restaurants, cities, counties and public health districts across the state must follow.

The changes included the following:
*Removal of the GPS requirement – mobile food units shall provide NET Health with social media contacts and direct contact information for an employee of their mobile food unit.

*Plumbing and electrical inspections no longer required by NET Health, but the integrity and safety of the plumbing and electrical systems are the responsibility of each mobile food unit owner/operator.

*Mobile food units are required to comply with any applicable requirements of the International Fire Code as adopted by the City of Tyler and as enforced by the Tyler Fire Department.

*Floors, floor coverings, walls, wall coverings, and ceilings shall be designed, constructed, and installed so they are smooth and easily cleanable.
