Change for a Jacksonville Traffic Signal
Posted/updated on: October 24, 2016 at 2:52 pmJACKSONVILLE – The Texas Department of Transportation is changing the operation of the traffic signal at the intersection of Bolton (FM 347) and Kickapoo streets in Jacksonville as part of its traffic signal removal process. Beginning today, “STOP” and “STOP AHEAD” signs will be placed on the Kickapoo Street approach to the intersection. Once the signs have been installed, the signal will flash yellow on Bolton Street allowing traffic to proceed through the intersection with caution but without stopping. On Kickapoo Street, the signal will flash red meaning the traffic must stop before continuing through the intersection.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution while traveling through the intersection for the next 90 days, which is the time required for TxDOT to evaluate the intersection to ensure conditions are met to support removal, and then completely remove the signal.
