travis-hollis-taylorPOYNOR — A Frankston man has been charged in the death of his brother-in-law, who was killed Tuesday night in Poynor. According to KETK, Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse says Travis Hollis Taylor, 44, was charged with murder. Hillhouse said Taylor allegedly shot his brother-in-law, Michael Barton, with a shotgun during an argument and killed him. At around 9 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a home on N. Elm Street in Poynor. Authorities found the 47-year-old victim with gunshot wounds at the scene. Taylor’s body has been sent to Dallas for autopsy.

“This was a disagreement that got tragically out of hand,” Sheriff Hillhouse said. “Thankfully, no one else was hurt and the violence was contained.” Henderson County 3rd District Judge Mark Calhoun issued two search warrants during the investigation for the site of the alleged shooting. The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by members of the Henderson County District Attorney’s Office and the Texas Rangers with the investigation.
