Jogger Fatally Struck by Vehicle

JACKSONVILLE — Jacksonville Police have identified a jogger who was struck and killed on Loop 456 Monday morning. Officers responded to an accident involving a vehicle and a jogger in the 1100 block of Loop 456 near Glenfawn Street around 6:45. Authorities identified the jogger as Arvel Dwayne Partain, 59, of Jacksonville. According to police, the driver, later identified as Colton Renfro, possibly fell asleep and drifted onto the shoulder, fatally hitting Partain. The Department of Public Safety is assisting in the investigation.
