Gregg County GOP Chairman Resigns

Tim Vaughn announced Tuesday he was resigning to accept a lobbying job with the Dallas based National Federation of Independent Businesses. According to the Longview News Journal, he recommended to his executive committee that it name party headquarters manager Marty Rhymes as his temporary stand-in and wait until their January 10 meeting to name a successor. She is currently the party’s vice-chair. She has served the party for over 20 years.
