It’s the TJC Promise Scholarship program, where the students can get two free years of college at Tyler Junior College. The Director of Counseling for TISD, Leigh Ann Barber, said the students who sign the pledge now must meet certain academic, attendance and community service standards throughout high school. The program is not just for TISD students. It’s also for students in the TJC taxing district. Besides Tyler, this includes Chapel Hill, Grand Saline, Lindale, Van and Winona.
